Lawrence A.Spera
Coldwater Canyon Capital, LLC was established in 2000 as a mortgage brokerage company committed to providing residential mortgage loan services to individual homebuyers and homeowners. The Company is licensed or authorized to conduct business in 14 states and operates under the assumed business names of TLC Lending and TLC Funding.
Mr. Spera's extensive career began in 1984 with Brokers Mortgage Services in New Jersey. There he was responsible for managing the firm's interest rate exposure. After subsequent acquisitions by the Travelers Group in 1987 and GE Capital in 1990, Mr. Spera became head of the interest rate risk management group responsible for mortgage pricing, hedging, and trading the firm's multi-billion dollar loan origination and inventory portfolio.
In 1995, Mr. Spera became Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at Great Western Bank in California, one of the nation's largest savings and loans institutions. Here, he continued to build his reputation as one of the top Capital Market executives in the mortgage industry. Mr. Spera managed Great Western Bank's mortgage backed security and wholeloan sales unit. The bank was acquired by Washington Mutual Bank in 1997.
Prior to forming Coldwater Canyon Capital, Mr. Spera was an equity partner and Executive Vice President of Capital Markets at First Bankers Mortgage Services ("FBMS") in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was responsible for all Capital Market functions including loan sales, mortgage pricing and trading. He also supervised the mortgage technology division and the company's revolving loan funding facility.
Mr. Spera graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University in 1982 and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
