THE NEW YORK CHILDREN'S VISION COALITION is a non-profit educational and advocacy organization dedicated solely to assuring comprehensive eye care for all New York's children.
DID YOU KNOW...
- An estimated 80% of what a child learns in the first twelve years is obtained through vision.
- One out of every four children has an undetected vision problem that can impede learning.
- Vision disorders are the fourth most common disability in the U.S., and the leading cause of handicapping conditions in childhood.
- There is a strong link between good vision, literacy and self-esteem.
WHAT WE DO...
- The Coalition brings together educators, healthcare professionals, private industry, philanthropists and political leaders to solidify a common commitment to the preservation of sight and quality of life.
- With awareness campaigns, ongoing advocacy with city and state governments as well as agencies responsible for health and education policy, the Coalition seek to ensure accessibility to vision care for all regardless of their ability to pay.
- The Coalition works to insure early detection and treatment sources for each and every child, and has a mobile vision saw that provided direct care to children at schools, head start program day care & summer day camp program.

Baby Buggy is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing New York City's families in need with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children.
Since 2001, Baby Buggy has delivered over 2 million essential items to thousands of families through our network of over 80 qualified social service partners.
Today, over 500,000 children live in poverty in NYC. Baby Buggy's goal is to help them access the essentials they need to ensure their safety and well-being. By providing concrete resources to their families through our network of social service professionals, we help alleviate the stress of living in poverty, and we help prevent crisis.
